Testa Omega-3 Products

Questions and Answers

  • Testa Vegan Vrill DHA + EPA contains, as you can read in the name, two additional active substances in addition to DHA + EPA. The ratio of active ingredients is different to our DHA + EPA product and therefore for Vrill we recommend 2 capsules per day (see below):

Our recommended daily dose of 2 softgels of Vrill Omega-3 contains at least:

    – DHA (docosahexaenoic acid): 280 mg
    – EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid): 160 mg
    – Astaxanthin: 1500 mcg
    – Phostatidylcholine: 230 mg

In comparison, 1 softgel Testa Omega-3 DHA + EPA contains at least:

    – DHA (docosahexaenoic acid): 250 mg
    – EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid): 125 mg

    What is krill oil?

Krill oil comes from small, shrimp-like crustaceans. Most krill oil is extracted from Antarctic krill, which live in the cold waters around Antartica. Krill feed on algae and are in turn food for fish, whales, penguins and seals.

How is krill oil different from fish oil?

Krill oil is an animal alternative to fish oil, but due to a different chemical composition higher quality. Because krill oil besides the omega-3 also contains high-quality phospholipid and the strong antioxidant astaxanthin, krill is better absorbed by the human body. Many therapists recommend krill oil to their clients.

What are the advantages of Vrill over algae oil?

Testa Vegan Krill Oil DHA + EPA is, in addition to a high daily dose of omega 3 fatty acids (with a daily intake of 2 capsules), also rich in phospholipids and astaxanthin. As a result, the oil is better absorbed by the body.

Phospholipids are important building blocks for our cell membranes. The cell membrane is the outer covering of every living cell in our body. All substances that enter or leave the cell have to pass through the membrane. A good condition of all our cell membranes is therefore essential for good health.

Astaxanthin is a carotenoid made by plankton, algae and certain plants, fungi and bacteria to protect themselves from the harmful effects of sunlight and oxygen; the highest concentration of astaxanthin is found in microalgae. Astaxanthin is a powerful and versatile antioxidant that can protect our cells from external damage, much more powerful than vitamin E.

How to Take Testa Omega-3

Questions and Answers

  • When should I take my dose?

Taking the supplement with meals that contain fat is better for absorption. More of the Omega-3 ends up in your ‘system’ and over time, more remains in your body when you consume the algae oil during a meal.

However, if you experience belching after taking the algae oil, we recommend that you take it before a meal. The food ‘helps’ to make the capsule find its way into the stomach faster.

    Shelf life and storage advice

The shelf life of the Testa Omega-3 capsules is at least 2 years after the production date, if stored at a (dry) room temperature between 15 – 25 ° C, protected from sunlight (like other oils).

Other manufacturers usually have a shelf life of 3 years, but Testa Omega-3 applies the strictest safety standards. The expiry date (month + year) is on the blister next to the batch number.
